Message from CEO - 29 January 2021

Written by Catherine Daley, Chief Executive Officer with integratedliving

Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. The summer days are certainly flying by and it’s reassuring to see that the recent COVID-19 clusters in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria have settled. As always, we remain committed to your safety and will continue to ensure that we follow all government health advice and our own organisational protocols to keep both you and our staff safe moving forward.

integratedliving on TV

You may have recently seen one of our television commercials, perhaps even one featuring me. These have been airing since late November to help people in the communities we serve get to know integratedliving and the services we offer. You can watch the Community Service Announcements and television commercials below.

Virtual Community Forums – Healthier at Home

If you follow integratedliving on one of our social media channels, like Facebook or Instagram, you would have seen posts advertising our online community forums, Creating Conversations: Healthier at Home, which will be taking place in February and March. The forums are designed to assist anyone who is interested in learning more about aged care – services available, how to access it, funding, and much more

We have specific forums for people looking at aged care services for themselves and others designed for family members and carers

We have compiled the ten most common questions both potential clients and family and carers have about getting started with aged care and these questions form the basis for our hour-long forums, which will take place at various times to suit people’s availability and will be presented by experts in the field.

The forums are free and as they will be hosted online there are no limits on how many people can attend. Everyone is welcome.

The forums will help people navigate the complexity of the system and understand the many service and support offerings available to themselves or a loved one. With aged care, it’s all about being proactive – getting organised prior to needing services so you can access the support you need when you need it.

Aged Care Career Forums

We’re also hosting aged care career forums designed for people interested in working with older people or people with disability. These forums will be 45 minutes long and will cover the various roles available including those for Allied Health professionals and clinicians, the requirements for working in community service roles and the benefits of working for integratedliving

All forums will include the opportunity to ask questions and are worth attending even if you or a loved one already receive aged care services as you will learn something new and potentially beneficial, like a service you didn’t know was on offer.

How to register for the Forums

You can register for these forums by clicking on the Events tab on our website. If you know anyone who may be interested feel free to direct them to our website or Facebook page for the event and registration details.

Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety will release its final report to the Government on 26 February. Coupled with the previously released interim report and recommendations, the final report will no doubt bring about significant industry-wide reform over time that will benefit older Australians and their families. We will be unpacking the Commission’s final report carefully and will continue to keep you updated in future client newsletters and on our website.

I hope 2021 has started well for you and your loved ones.

Stay safe and take care.

Chief Executive Officer
