Monthly Client Update - April 2020

Written by Catherine Daley, Chief Executive Officer with integratedliving

We recognise that there is a lot of advice and information available around COVID-19 and we wanted to share with you the plans in place to continue the delivery of services to you in these challenging times. As an accredited service provider, we wanted to reassure you we are strictly adhering to the Department of Health guidelines to ensure continuity of service and to keep both our employees and you, safe and well.

Recent strong advice from the Government issued on 31 March 2020 identified people over 70 years of age, people over 65 years of age who have existing chronic health conditions, Indigenous Australians over the age of 50 who have existing chronic health conditions, and people with compromised immune systems, as being at high risk of serious illness if infected with COVID-19. People in these categories were advised they should self-isolate to the maximum extent practical.

Please be reassured our goal is to preserve the provision of services, with staff wearing the relevant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect both you and themselves. Below is a leaflet illustrating the PPE staff will be wearing and when this is required according to the current guidelines. This will ensure continuity of high-quality essential health care - delivered to you in a safe and sensible way.

Please contact your doctor for advice if you are concerned. Please inform your support worker or our Customer Service Centre on 1300 782 896 if you are concerned how self-isolation may affect you.

I know this is a particularly stressful time and can be exacerbated by the increased isolation. People are finding new ways to connect in meaningful ways via the phone and internet. We are working to extend the range of ‘no contact’ services we can offer to support social contact, and we look forward to sharing more about these in coming weeks.

integratedliving is committed to doing everything we can to continue to make a positive difference to your health and wellbeing. For the latest information you can visit the government’s Department of Health website, or you can call the Department’s Coronavirus helpline on 1800 020 080. The Government has also introduced an app you can download and information on how to do this is on the reverse side of the enclosed flyer.

Thank you for your understanding as we navigate through this difficult time together.

Please take care and stay safe.
