What is respite care?

Respite care provides relief for carers from looking after their aging loved ones. It allows a temporary break or extra support, so they can rest or attend to other matters.

We offer a range of respite care options, including day visits for your loved ones to our Activity Centres. They can spend time with us in a caring environment, supported by professionals who truly care. Our support workers can also come to your home and look after your loved one. With experience and understanding in looking after our ageing community, we can provide you with some much-needed assistance.

Eligibility criteria*

  • You need to be aged over 65 or over 50 for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders.
  • Some services may be available to people aged under 65.

This service is for carers who is performing majority of the caregiving duties for their loved ones and require a short break from their responsibilities.

Yes, this service can be aligned with your values and preferences. We will take the time to learn your individual cultural and care needs so they are always considered when making our recommendations. We will also encourage you to set meaningful goals and help you to achieve them. You may also have your preferred support person included during the program or access interpreting services if required.

Registered Nurses and/or Support Workers. All of our team members work for integratedliving and we do not outsource carers.

Yes, we can come to your home or you can also take your loved ones to one of our Activity Centres for the day, or overnight Respite Cottages, while you have some time for yourself. Call our Customer Service Centre on 1300 782 896 to find out more.

Our team is fully trained to manage and provide care in a COVID-19 safe aged care environment, and our Activity Centres are cleaned regularly throughout the day.
