The health of your feet can affect your wellbeing and quality of life in a variety of ways; from restricting your mobility to causing ongoing pain or discomfort.
Led by Registered Nurses, our Foot Wellness program focuses on assessing current foot health concerns, detecting any related chronic health conditions and providing you with the education and support to keep you on your feet and living actively and independently at home. The Foot Wellness program also aims to help you take care of your feet to avoid falls.
- Increase balance, strength and prevent falls.
- Manage chronic conditions and foot health.
- Learn how to alleviate and manage foot pain.
About the program
When you sign up to our Foot Wellness program you will also complete our Diabetes Wellness program. The combined program provides specialist education about healthy feet and falls prevention linked with education about damage to nerves in the feet related to diabetes. Registered Nurses will also provide you information on the pathways available to diagnose those conditions and assist you with how to manage these at home.
As a Foot Wellness program participant you will receive an initial assessment of the health of your feet and any related health concerns such as your risk of falls and chronic illness.
Together with our Registered Nurses, you will set goals that will help you achieve better foot health and general wellbeing. Throughout the Foot Wellness program you will also have the opportunity to monitor your progress and celebrate your achievements.
As a result of COVID-19, our Wellness programs have been moved to a virtual setting meaning you can access it from wherever you live. Delivered once a week via a Zoom video call, you’ll be able to speak openly about your health concerns and even socialise with new friends, all from the comfort and safety of your own home. One of our Wellness Facilitators can even help you get set up if you’ve never used video calling before and all you need is internet connection and an iPad or computer.
You will feel supported by our staff and enjoy learning along with other participants, how to have happy feet and a happy life.
