Celebrating Volunteers and Community Spirit at Our Activity Centres
May was a month of celebration, creativity and heartfelt appreciation across our Activity Centres.
It was a time filled with gratitude, creativity and connection across our Central Coast and Raymond Terrace Activity Centres. From celebrating our dedicated volunteers to embracing seasonal crafts and community events, each Centre came alive with colour, laughter and heartfelt moments. Despite some wild weather and brief closures, the spirit of our clients, staff and supporters remained strong.
Central Coast Activity Centres
May was a vibrant month at our Central Coast Activity Centres. Gosford, Woy Woy and Gorokan came together on May 22 for a joyful 'Biggest Morning Tea', filled with tasty treats, games, raffle prizes and beautiful daffodil-themed table decorations made by our clients. Congratulations to Geoff from Woy Woy, our lucky door prize winner!
We also took time to thank our incredible volunteers with morning tea and certificates of appreciation. A huge thank you to Kmart Woy Woy, Creighton’s and Bunnings Umina Beach for their generous support –including a new BBQ, now in use at the Woy Woy Centre.

Meals on Wheels recently visited Gorokan and will return as guest speakers for our upcoming open days: June 17–18 at Woy Woy and Gosford, and June 20 at Gorokan, which will also feature a “Maintain Your Brain” session.
We’re also pleased to share that the Gosford Centre has reopened following recent flooding – thank you for your patience and ongoing support.
Raymond Terrace Activity Centre
May brought wild weather, including heavy rain and brief closures due to flooding. Fortunately, our Centre remained safe and reopened quickly with a few precautions (and some pool noodles!). Our thoughts are with those still affected.
Creativity was in full swing this month. Clients made handmade Mother’s Day cards and paper potted plants, while the Gosford and Woy Woy Centres celebrated with stunning native flower bouquets. Air-dry clay magnets, bouquet crafting and bright tie-dye bunting brought colour and fun across all locations.

Doggie Dates brought smiles with cuddles and companionship, especially meaningful for clients living with dementia.
We celebrated Activity Officer Rachel’s birthday with caramel cream cake, and Activity Officer Craig’s son, Ricky, wowed us with 3D-printed creations – from flowers to spinning tops.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to bring a Hawaiian vibe to the Centre in June - so get ready for leis, trivia and tropical fun!
