Moments of joy across our Activity Centres

Written by Rachelle Thomas, Activity Centre Team Leader with integratedliving

A month filled with culture, community and happiness.

The past month has brought an abundance of sunshine, creativity and connection across our Centres. Our clients have embraced every opportunity to come together, try new activities and celebrate the moments that make our community so special. From cultural celebrations and hands‑on gardening to joyful reunions and imaginative crafts, it has been a season filled with colour, laughter and shared experiences.

Welcoming our Woy Woy community back

After six weeks of being closed due to flood damage and repairs, our Woy Woy Centre finally re-opened and the reunion was nothing short of heartwarming.

Clients and team members were thrilled to be back together, celebrating the Centre's return in true Aussie style with a delicious barbecue lunch cooked by Lisa.

The laughter, conversations and familiar faces made the day feel extra special.

Celebrating culture and women’s achievements

Our Centres embraced two meaningful celebrations – Harmony Day and International Women’s Day.

Clients enjoyed activities that shared stories, honoured cultural diversity and recognised the incredible women across our communities.

These moments sparked reflection, connection and plenty of smiles.

Exploring the Netherlands through armchair travel

Our virtual passports were stamped once again as clients journeyed to the tulip capital of the world, the Netherlands.

This evocative destination tied beautifully into 'Plant a Flower Day', where everyone was hands-on in creating colourful pots and planting vibrant flowers. It made for a pretty blend of creativity, learning and sensory joy.

Gardening projects that sparked joy and wellbeing

Our gardens flourished with love and attention. At Gorokan, we welcomed Annmarie from Bunnings Lake Haven who generously donated a brand-new greenhouse and gardening supplies. This was a huge hit with everyone.

Meanwhile, at Gosford, clients planted fresh rosemary at the Centre’s entrance. Not only does it look great and smell wonderful as you walk in, rosemary in our diets is also known for its cognitive benefits, especially for those living with dementia.

These small touches created big moments of pride and wellbeing.

Creative crafts and festive fun at Raymond Terrace

Raymond Terrace clients embraced their creative side with stunning decoupage art on bottles and tins.

The Centre also enjoyed whimsical Easter-themed crafts and a delightful hot-air balloon theme that floated through the month, inspiring imagination and conversation.

These moments of joy, creativity and togetherness continue to shape the vibrant and welcoming community our Centres share.
