Mounties Bunny Run brings Easter joy to our Centres

Written by Sarah Leoniuk, Digital Marketing Coordinator with integratedliving

A festive Easter surprise brought warmth and excitement to our Centres

Our NSW Central Coast Activity Centres were buzzing with excitement recently when clients received a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny. The unexpected arrival brought laughter, nostalgia and a sense of joyous celebration across each Centre. The experience created Easter moments for everyone to savour alongside the chocolate to come.

What made the day even more special was that this visit was part of the long‑running Mounties Bunny Run – a community tradition that has been spreading Easter cheer for more than 30 years. Each year, Mounties volunteers travel across the region delivering chocolate treats and plush bunnies to children, older people and community groups, all with the simple aim of brightening someone’s day. Our integratedliving Centres were lucky to be part of the journey this year.

Easter joy and shared memories across our Centres

Woy Woy clients were very surprised and excited as the Easter Bunny made an unexpected entrance. Centre Coordinator Lisa said the moment quickly opened up warm conversations, with many people reminiscing about childhood Easter mornings or hiding eggs for their own children.

Gorokan clients had a different but equally joyful reaction. Coordinator Rebecca said everyone was curious what was happening at first, before the place erupted in laughter when the big bunny hopped through the door. The visit clearly resonated, with some sharing it was the highlight of their day.

Over at Gosford, Centre Coordinator Jane described a room “full of joy and festivity" as the big Mounties bunny handed out eggs, with a few people understandably confused initially. The visit soon sparked stories about past Easter egg hunts and long‑held family traditions.

Together, each Centre's simple Easter visit created fun memories, genuine joy and more meaningful connections between those there.

The impact of memorable Easter visits on our clients

Each Centre's Coordinator saw the same thing – joy, excitement and a sense of fun.

Lisa shared that many of the Woy Woy carried the uplifted mood throughout their days. At Gosford, Jane noticed how much clients appreciated “a bit of fun and a gift to take home” with the whole experience genuinely brightening their week.

Over at Gorokan, Rebecca said clients experienced “happiness and a laugh,” adding that the visit was a welcome reminder that life at the Centre is anything but boring.

These reflections echo the heart of the Bunny Run’s mission – to spread positivity and bring smiles to those who are or have faced challenges.

Unforgettable moments from the bunny run

Lisa shared a touching moment from Woy Woy, where a client shyly asked for a last‑minute photo with the Easter Bunny.

Her warm genuine smile with the big bunny stayed with her and others for the rest of the day.

At Gorokan, Rebecca was delighted to see many of the ladies eagerly lining up for their photo with the Easter Bunny.

The moment captured the sense of fun, camaraderie and shared joy the visit had brought.

Gosford had its own standout memory. Jane recalled Luda’s excitement as she selected a bunny to give to her grandson. A simple act that highlighted the joy of giving and celebration.

It also highlighted another extra layer of meaning the visit brought. Easter and this special, joy-filled visit brought more than treats.

It brought pure fun, connection, memories and the kind of warmth that gets you through challenging times.

Thank you to Mounties Group and their volunteers for bringing so much heart-filled fun to our clients this Easter.
