Music, laughter and friendship at Activity Centre luncheon

The highlight of this month was a truly memorable luncheon at the Halekulani Bowling Club on the Central Coast. Clients and team members came together for a day that was filled with laughter, music and the joy of reconnecting with old friends. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with every detail designed to make the occasion special.

65 clients and staff from all four Activity Centres joined the 'Sparkle & Shine' lunch. Community Transport brought clients from Woy Woy, Gosford and Gorokan, while Raymond Terrace clients travelled with the support of team members. The gathering was not only a chance to enjoy a festive meal but also an opportunity for clients from different Centres to meet, mingle and share stories.

The monthly 'Good Morning Hali' event at the Halekulani Bowls Club featured a captivating performance by Lana Nesnas, whose beautiful voice filled the room with energy and emotion. Her music inspired dancing, laughter and heartfelt memories. One client expressed how meaningful it was to dance again after many years, making the day especially moving. Sparkles, smiles and joy radiated from every corner of the room, creating an atmosphere that felt both uplifting and magical.

Following the performance, clients enjoyed a delicious lunch accompanied by refreshing drinks. Volunteers from the Centres generously offered their time, ensuring the day ran smoothly and everyone felt supported. Their presence added an extra layer of warmth and care, reminding clients that they are surrounded by a community that values them deeply.

The luncheon also gave Activity Centre team members a rare chance to meet in person, strengthening bonds across Centres.

Manager Addie, Team Leader Rach, Coordinators Jane, Kate, Rebecca and Lisa, along with Activity Officers Renee, Nicole, Lisa, Maz, Tracey and Lisa worked together to make the day unforgettable.

Addie captured the spirit of the event perfectly, remarking, “where language ends, music begins". The joy and connection in the room reflected those words beautifully.

Heartfelt thanks go to Mounties and the Halekulani Bowling Club team for their generosity and support.

The Sparkle & Shine luncheon was more than just a meal or a performance - it was a celebration of community, friendship, and the simple joy of being together. For clients and staff alike, it created treasured memories that will be carried forward long after the music faded.
