How our Clinical Helpdesk supports the care integratedliving provides

Client wellbeing is at the core of our Clinical Helpdesk's work.

Did you know integratedliving has a Clinical Helpdesk? To ensure our clients receive the best support, we have an expert Helpdesk to help address complex needs and issues for clients when necessary.

Alongside our highly experienced nursing team dealing with complex health issues on a daily basis, the Clinical Helpdesk is another channel available to our team to ensure the best outcomes for our clients facing more challenging health issues.

Stephen, integratedliving Clinical Practice Advisor and Registered Nurse with more than four decades of experience, describes the Helpdesk as a superpower. “We look at every case we’re given in detail,” Stephen said. “For example, if someone has been experiencing falls, we will investigate all possible causes. Things such as medications, environment, muscle weakness, stiff joints and eyesight problems can all increase the likelihood of a fall. Once a person has been assessed, we will come up with a holistic strategy to support the client in the future.”

It is the Helpdesk team’s breadth of knowledge and experience that can prove invaluable when needed. The Helpdesk team responds with practical and creative solutions built on the foundations of policy, procedure and legality. 

Some of the instances in which the Clinical Helpdesk may be called upon include:

 

  • A deterioration in a client’s health
  • To review a client’s health history
  • Multiple incidents such as medication errors or falls
  • Clinical oversight for all clients receiving
  • CHSP – at admission and for ongoing clinical concerns
  • When a critical incident is reported
  • Frontline team training where applicable
  • Advice on social support
  • Advice on respite
  • Elder abuse
  • To mediate and consult with clients, carers and external stakeholders
  • A death – every death is reviewed.
