integratedliving joins ARIIA aged care innovation project

Written by Joanne Isaac, Senior Manager (Communications and Campaigns) with integratedliving

integratedliving announces its selection to participate in a flagship project with Aged Care Research & Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA).

integratedliving has been selected to participate in a national project designed to enhance leadership roles and workforce structures in aged care. This project aims to clarify roles, streamline communication, and establish clearer career pathways through a co-designed, evidence-based approach.

The project is in partnership with Aged Care Research & Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA), supported by Griffith University researchers (Associate Professor Katrina Radford and Dr Ellie Meissner) and is funded by the Australian Government.

This project aims to:

  • Improve clarity around leadership roles, responsibilities and reporting lines
  • Enhance communication and collaboration between staff, clients and their families
  • Support leadership development and flexibility
  • Strengthen career pathways for aged care workers

Ultimately, this project aims to improve staff wellbeing, leadership and role clarity, communication lines and workload efficiency, so aged care staff can do what they do best: contribute to best quality of care for older Australians.

ARIIA and Griffith University will use a co-design method, meaning integratedliving team members’ feedback will help shape the project. The team central to this project is in the Far North Coast region of New South Wales.

Our Project Team will be collaborating with five other aged care providers across Australia who are also implementing this project in their unique settings. We will learn together and generate evidence-based solutions to share with the sector. We are excited to contribute to a project that will benefit a wide range of aged care providers, workers, and older Australians.

Cassii Rusk, Chief People Officer at integratedliving, is excited about the organisation’s involvement in this flagship project.

“Participating in this pilot gives integratedliving the opportunity to test and tailor solutions that reflect our context as a regional, rural and remote provider. It also allows us to contribute to sector-wide innovation, ensuring regional voices are heard in national reform efforts. Ultimately, it helps shape a future where care is accessible and effective—no matter where home is.

“This project represents the kind of forward-thinking collaboration we need in aged care—bringing together research, innovation, and frontline experience. I’m excited about the potential for meaningful improvements for our teams and clients, and about the opportunity to share what we learn to support other providers across Australia,” Cassii said.
