Aged-care reforms update – July 2025
We’re preparing for the new Aged Care Act and Support at Home program to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality care for our clients from 1 November 2025.
At integratedliving, we have been preparing for the introduction of the New Aged Care Act on 1 November 2025, for the past 18 months. By staying ahead of the required changes, we aim to provide seamless and uninterrupted care to our clients.
This new legislation focuses on achieving a number of key outcomes for consumers of Aged Care Services in Australia. These include respect, care and dignity; real choice and control; safe and high-quality care; independence through care at home; easy, consistent and equitable access, and appropriately skilled care.
One of the significant changes is the implementation of the Support at Home program, which will replace the current Home Care Packages. To align with the new single assessment tool that determines eligibility and care needs, we are updating our assessment processes to ensure that our clients receive the appropriate level of care.
As part of our preparation for the New Aged Care Act, we are also committed to meeting the strengthened Quality Standards that will come into effect on 1 November. These standards will emphasise critical areas such as dementia care, diversity, governance and clinical care.
We are actively working to enhance our care practices to align with these standards. This includes providing additional training for our team to ensure they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills. We are also updating our policies and procedures to reflect best practice and ensure compliance with the new regulations. By focusing on these areas, we aim to deliver the highest quality of care and support to you, our clients, ensuring your wellbeing and satisfaction.
We understand these upcoming changes may raise questions. Over the coming months you will receive communication advising you of any changes that may affect you. We will continue to keep you informed to ensure you feel supported during this transition.
