Aged Care Reforms — now from November 2025
The Australian Government is making important changes to aged care, with a new Aged Care Act designed to improve the quality of services and give older Australians more choice and control. The updated start date for these reforms is now 1 November 2025.
These reforms reflect a growing focus on person-centred care, which is something we’ve always prioritised at integratedliving. We support these changes and believe the extra time will help ensure the reforms are introduced in a way that benefits clients and communities — especially in regional and rural Australia.
What this means for you
Right now, you don’t need to do anything. Your care and services will continue as usual.
Over the coming months, we’ll keep you informed about what’s changing — with straightforward, easy-to-follow updates that explain what it means for you or your loved ones.
How integratedliving is getting ready
Our teams are already preparing so we will be ready to deliver services aligned with the new Act. This includes:
- Training staff on the new rights and quality standards
- Reviewing our processes to make them even more person-focused
- Ensuring our wellness centres and community services reflect the new expectations
- Listening to clients and carers to understand what matters most
We’ll continue to advocate for a fair and well-supported rollout that works for older people — especially in regional communities.
What about the Commonwealth Home Support Programme?
The delay to the Aged Care Act does not affect CHSP services. If you receive support through this program, your services will continue without change for now.
Our commitment to you
Between now and November 2025, integratedliving is committed to:
- Keeping you informed at every step
- Explaining changes in simple, supportive language
- Continuing to provide trusted, respectful care that meets your needs and preferences
For over 25 years, integratedliving has supported older Australians to live well and independently at home — and we’ll continue to do so through these reforms and beyond.
