Gosford Activity Centre: artistry, farewells and the Aussie spirit
The year at Gosford has started with a celebration of creativity and Aussie culture. Our clients dived into hands-on activities, crafting wattle flowers using cotton buds and sponges, capturing the essence of Australia's vibrant landscape. These artistic creations not only brought out everyone's creative sides but also served as beautiful tributes to our country's unique flora.
In true Aussie tradition, our Australia Day celebration was packed with fun-filled activities. Clients dressed up with temporary tattoos, took part in thrilling beach cricket games, and showed off their skills in the ultimate thong-throwing contest. The day was topped off with a classic sausage sizzle, making it a perfect celebration of Aussie culture.

We farewelled a wonderful member of our community in February. For the past eight years, volunteer Merry has been a source of immense support and joy, and for this we are very grateful. Our volunteers are incredibly valued, and we will deeply miss Merry's presence. Thank you for your care and kindness, Merry.
We hosted our open day on February 17, where Podiatrist Jo was on hand to discuss the importance of foot health, followed by a lovely morning tea. It was a day filled with learning and connection within our beautiful community.

Woy Woy Activity Centre: fun, friends and friendly competition
At Woy Woy, we've started the year reigniting friendships and creating smiles. We celebrated renewed friendships and new beginnings with our much-loved Indoor Balloon Tennis Tournament. This creative twist on a classic game involved players using balloons instead of traditional tennis balls for singles, doubles and team matches. The response was overwhelmingly positive, filling the Centre with laughter and friendly rivalry.
Our community spirit continued to shine as Geoff, one of our talented clients, entertained everyone with his musical performances, a regular highlight that brings music and joy to our days. We also embraced the Australian spirit with lively games like the "Budgie Toss" and Aussie trivia, keeping everyone engaged and entertained.

We were delighted to host our open day in February, where we enjoyed a morning filled with camaraderie and insightful discussions led by our guest speaker, Podiatrist Jo. An Allied Health professional with a wealth of experience, Jo shared valuable knowledge on podiatry while attendees savoured a delightful morning tea. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience our very welcoming community, hear from an expert and learn more about what's on offer through our Centre and services.
"We would love to welcome you at any of our open days. They offer the perfect chance to meet new friends, find out more about us and enjoy a social morning in a safe place."

Raymond Terrace Activity Centre: resilience and renewal
The new year at Raymond Terrace began with challenges, but our spirit of resilience shone through. A wild storm temporarily closed the Centre, but our community's patience and understanding proved invaluable. Once reopened, there was no shortage of activities to keep everyone's spirits high.
We started each day with energising light exercises and playful games like balloon tennis and table soccer, encouraging everyone to stay active and engaged. The camaraderie and competitive spark among our clients was infectious, turning each session into a delightful affair.
Australia Day was celebrated with delicious lamingtons and pavlova, accompanied by lively thong-throwing contests and engaging trivia games. These activities brought everyone together, reinforcing our shared resilience and joy.
The Raymond Terrace team recommends exploring the Carer Gateway for those seeking support services for carers. Backed by the Australian Government, it offers a variety of free resources. Visit Carer Gateway or call 1800 422 737 for more details.
