Koori Knockout returns to Raymond Terrace for a powerful celebration

The NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout, known to many as the Koori Knockout, is returning to Worimi Country in Raymond Terrace from 2 - 5 October 2026. Celebrating its 55th year, the annual event has been bringing thousands of players, families and supporters together in what has become one of the most significant First Nations gatherings in Australia.

Hosted by the Newcastle Yowies this year, following their historic sweep of multiple divisions at the 2025 carnival, this four-day event is expected to draw 10,000 spectators each day to Kings Park Sporting Complex.

And if you’re attending, keep an eye out for Victor, one of the Knockout’s founders and a proud integratedliving client.

A celebration of culture, community and connection

Since its beginnings in 1971, the Koori Knockout has grown into much more than a sporting competition. It is a powerful cultural gathering that brings First Nations peoples together from across NSW and beyond with many travelling long distances to reconnect with family, friends and Community.

While rugby league is the heartbeat of the event, the Knockout is equally known for its atmosphere of pride, resilience and unity.

It’s a place where:

  • Cultures are celebrated
  • Community ties are strengthened
  • Younger generations connect with role models and traditions
  • Families reunite and share stories
  • Visitors can learn, listen and experience First Nations strength firsthand

The result is a four‑day celebration filled with sport, energy and deep cultural significance.

integratedliving’s RAP team will be there

Events like the Knockout offer invaluable opportunities to:

  • Build cultural understanding
  • Listen and learn respectfully
  • Deepen appreciation of First Nations identity, family and connection
  • Strengthen relationships with the communities we serve

We encourage those living in or visiting the Raymond Terrace region to join the celebration and experience this important event.

If you have the chance, we encourage you to attend and be part of this significant gathering.
