How much will it cost you?
Your contributions to the Support at Home program will differ from the Home Care Package.
The new program's goal is to keep you at home and out of hospital for as long as possible. Service categories are clinical care, independence, and everyday living.
Notably, under the 'no worse off principle', you will not pay more when transitioning to the Support at Home program if you are currently on a Home Care Package.
- The government fully funds clinical care, such as nursing and allied health services.
- Independence services such as personal care are partly funded.
- Everyday living services such as gardening and cleaning will demand higher contributions. These fees will depend on your funding level and personal circumstances. Your contribution to these services will depend on whether you are a full pensioner, part-pensioner, or a self-funded retiree.
