Digital Dialogue helps people become tech-savvy and explore new hobbies.
integratedliving’s Digital Dialogue program is specifically designed to help older Australians learn how to use an iPad and a wide range of apps and become confident in an online environment.
When you join the program you will have a Digital Support Officer, like a personal online coach, to help you. They will spend the first few sessions guiding you through how to set up the free iPad. They will also help you get comfortable in a virtual meeting setting.
Digital Support Officer Mark said that the program is beneficial in so many ways.
“Once set up, people join in the weekly education sessions where they learn how to stay safe online,” Mark said.
“They learn how to use technology to communicate with family and friends. How to use social media, access government services, manage passwords and use apps for transport and entertainment."
“They also join in two one-hour virtual social sessions every week,” Mark said. “They can enjoy group activities like games and trivia; sketching; music; craft; science; travel; gardening; food and painting. And there’s sessions on history, unusual lives, locations and more.”
Mark said clients tell him the program demystifies technology and provides them with enough knowledge to be more confident in using it in their everyday lives.
“Lots of clients enjoy surprising family and friends by video calling them from their iPad,” Mark said.
“And the virtual social sessions are so popular that many clients continue on with them once they complete the program.”

Maria, a client from Tasmania, was so impressed with the program and the ongoing support she’s received from Mark that she sent in some very positive feedback.
“It’s a very good program. Everyone who took us through each week was very knowledgeable and patient,” Maria said. “I enjoyed it, especially learning about all the apps. Mark helped me with email and photos and it’s great to have someone you can ask if you get into trouble with something.”
Maria has continued with virtual social sessions since completing Digital Dialogue. “The social side of the virtual sessions is what I’m enjoying. And who knew I could sketch? I really enjoy seeing people every week, everyone is so friendly,” Maria said.
