Recognising the individual: Why community nursing makes a crucial difference in regional, rural and remote Australia

Written by Liz Moore, Communications Partner with integratedliving

We speak to Registered Nurse and health-care veteran, Stephen, about the benefits of community nursing, and how to get the most out of the aged-care journey.

With nearly five decades of experience as a nurse specialising in seniors health, as well as caring for his own nonagenarian mother, Stephen understands the trials and blessings of the aged-care experience.

He also appreciates the joys and challenges of living in regional, rural and remote areas, and being able to help people in the homes that can reveal their most important stories.
In this illuminating conversation, Stephen talks about why it’s important to look after your health as you age, and indeed why not acting on your needs often means you are not just standing still, but going backwards.
