Frequently Asked Questions
This service is designed for the prevention of slips and falls for older people. We make modifications to your home and outdoor areas, making it easier to stay safe and well at home.
Can this service be catered to specific culturally and linguistically diverse/LGBTIQA+ community needs?
Yes, this service can be aligned with your values and preferences. Our Occupational Therapists will take the time to learn your individual cultural and care needs so they are always considered when making their recommendations. You may also have your preferred support person included during the consultations or access interpreting services if required.
This service is delivered by registered Occupational Therapists, who are trained to identify potential hazards and make modifications so that you may continue living independently at home. They may also organise pre-approved contractors to assist with home modification works and the installation of assistive technologies around your home.
We do not need to renovate your home to make modifications. An initial assessment will be conducted to determine your level of needs. We will then make recommendations and work with you to decide the most effective home modification solutions based on your health condition.
You may be able to access our services to assist with the purchase of assistive technologies, funding package depending. Please call our Customer Service Centre on 1300 782 896 to find out more.
