“I am very thankful for what integratedliving has done for me. I was shocked when I was diagnosed. The ladies who ran the program were so helpful and caring. I just can’t thank them enough,” said Cheree.

Diabetes and foot health typically go hand-in-hand. Uncontrolled high blood sugar can reduce blood flow in your feet, leading to problems with cuts and sores healing. At integratedliving, we offer our clients Foot and Diabetes Wellness Programs to enhance knowledge and offer proactive lifestyle changes to teach clients how to manage their diabetic condition effectively through diet, nutrition and foot care.

Led by our Registered Nurses, we support clients to recognise the lifestyle factors that can affect diabetes as we age and provide essential information on how to recognise diabetes-related foot conditions.

"We teach clients ways on how they can adjust their diet through nutritional education," said Registered Nurse Christine. "This assists them with managing their health effectively so they can stay well and on their feet"

Diabetes Australia reports in the previous 12 months from 2021, four in five people have experienced mental health challenges and stigma associated with their condition. Stigma includes being blamed for their condition and experiencing perceived slurs from others when managing it in public. integratedliving's Foot and Diabetes Wellness Program is designed to boost confidence in managing diabetes.

Remaining connected can also assist with maintaining routines. integratedliving’s Wellness and Activity Centres offer a vast array of social options for clients, alongside virtual alternatives.
